A Statement about the Gaza Genocide

By Michele Lavazza · 5 October 2025

We have to speak up against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people perpetrated by Israel in Gaza.

The indiscriminate bombing of civilians, the massacre of children, the use of hunger as a weapon, the sieges and forced displacements amount to a horror that cannot be described as self-defence.

Among us LWP volunteers are Jews and Muslims; Europeans and Americans; and people from many other backgrounds; we each raise our voice against the war crimes and the crimes against humanity. Whatever standing we have among our peers, we wish to use it to call for the Israeli government and military to stop the brutality and to be held accountable; and for the West to start actively opposing the violations of international law in Palestine instead of ignoring or supporting them.

May the Palestinian people, like the Israeli people, have a future of self-determination, and may they both share in a future of safety, peace and flourishing.
